Of the original 100 copies, only four remain. Most libraries, concerned about poisoning their patrons, destroyed their volumes. Two of the surviving books remain in Michigan—one at MSU and the other at the University of Michigan.

The W face of Les Drus comes out of the clouds, dusted with fresh snow. The lighter grey parts show the scale of the massive rockfalls happening since the 50’s, taking out some of the most classic climbs in the history of alpinism, but also creating a lot of opportunities for future new routes on this impressive thousand-meters face.

In case you’re wondering, the ‘poison’ (totally inspired by the goopy AND smokey visuals of Hexxus) was created from about forty different layers of images I’d taken waving around black fabric.
I think I started this image about three months ago, needing to keep looking at it and fiddling with it with fresh eyes. I’m glad I did though, because I’m quite pleased with the result.So cool. It makes me think of what Victorian ectoplasm photos would look like, if they were now…
